Cancellation and refunds when plans shift
What a cancellation costs depends on the notice alone: nothing over a day ahead, half the deposit inside the last day, all of it once she is on her way.
A long stay contains more plans than a weekend, and more of them change. This is how a cancellation is read.
With a deposit
- More than twenty-four hours before the booked time: the whole deposit is repaid.
- Inside the final twenty-four hours, before she has set out: half the deposit is kept as fee already earned, and half is repaid.
- After she has left for your address: the deposit is kept in full, as fee already earned by that point.
If the freed hour is taken by another guest, the deposit is repaid in full. If you can show the loss to the house was smaller than the part kept, only that smaller amount is kept. A cancellation never makes a guest liable for damages.
Without a deposit
A returning guest's same-day hour or two at a city address has no deposit behind it. If it is called off while she has not yet left, nothing is owed. Called off after, it costs the share of the fee her journey represents, and nothing beyond that.
Moving instead of cancelling
Each booking can move to another date once without cost, if the request arrives more than twenty-four hours before the booked time and the new date falls within fourteen days. The deposit goes with it. A second move, or a move asked for inside the final day, is read as a cancellation at that moment, and whatever the scale does not keep carries forward to the new date.
When the house cannot keep the booking
