Massages in Amsterdam, chosen across a stay rather than a night
A short trip picks one technique and hopes. A long stay gets to try several, a few weeks apart, and learn what actually works on a body that is working hard in a new city. Each therapist sets her own limits and tells you where they are; this page only describes the shape of each format and when in a stay it tends to be booked.
The ten formats below are the same ones a weekend visitor sees. What changes over a month or three is how they get used. Nobody on a long stay books the same thing every time, and nobody needs to settle it in advance. The first booking is usually one of the gentler formats, and the later ones follow from how that evening went.
Massages in Amsterdam for the first booking of a stay
The opening booking of a posting tends to happen in a flat that still smells of someone else's detergent, at the end of a week spent learning a building pass and a new commute. Sensual massage is the usual choice at that point: warm oil, long strokes, nothing set up and nothing to clear away. Ninety minutes suits it. Sixty works when the week has been long and the bed is calling.
Oil work and body to body belong to the same easy family. They ask the flat for a bed and a warm room, which even a furnished studio with a radiator that clanks can manage.
Formats that suit the middle weeks
By the third or fourth week the city has become a routine and the body has started to register it: the desk that is lower than the one at home, the bicycle nobody warned you about, the stairs of a narrow house. Tantra massage is often booked here, because it is slow and breath-paced and wants ninety minutes or more to make sense. Nuru and soapy also turn up in the middle stretch. Both depend on the bathroom and the shower, and by then you know exactly what yours can and cannot do.
Four hand massage, two women working on one guest together, runs at twice the hourly fee of a solo booking. Long-stay guests tend to keep it for a particular date: the end of a hard project phase, a birthday spent away from home, the week a contract was extended.
Two of you, or a whole night
Partners who join for part of a stay usually arrive for a week or a long weekend. When the visiting partner shares one therapist with you, the hourly fee doubles; give each of you your own and it is four times the solo hour. Mention the second guest when you first write, since a couple booking is priced and planned differently from a single one.
The eight hour overnight is priced as one block for a single guest with one therapist, not as eight hours added up. Long stays tend to place it once, near a turning point, rather than repeat it. It always carries half the fee ahead.
How often, and at what length
There is no package and no weekly slot to sign up for. Each booking is its own agreement, at the same rates the first week paid. Guests who settle into a rhythm usually land somewhere between once a fortnight and once a week, alternating a shorter booking after work with a longer one at the weekend. The booking page explains how the deposit reads once you are a returning guest, which is where a long stay starts to differ from a short one.
