The last week of a long stay is almost as busy as the first. There are keys to return, a flat to leave clean, goodbyes to say and a suitcase that somehow no longer closes. Many guests keep one evening of that week for a final booking, a deliberate full stop to a stretch of life that is about to end.

A final booking is a different thing from a first one. By now you know the city, the flat and very likely the therapists whose names you have booked before. The booking is less about recovery and more about marking the close of the stay. Guests describe it as the evening that let them leave feeling that the stay was complete, rather than simply over. It helps to plan it rather than leave it to chance, because the last week has a way of filling up with other people's plans.
Choosing the evening
The obvious choice is the last night, but it is not always the right one. The final evening is often taken by packing, a last check of the flat and an early night before a flight. Many guests find the second or third evening from the end works better: the leaving drinks are done, the packing has started but is not urgent, and there is still a day or two left to recover. If the flight is early, count backwards from it and leave yourself a full night of sleep.
Asking for someone you have booked before
Over a long stay, most guests book the same woman at least twice, and a final booking is often a request for her again. Name her in the first line of the message along with the date and hour. The reply confirms whether she is free, and if she is not, it says who is. Because the last week leaves little room to move a date, it is worth writing several days ahead. A longer booking, or the overnight
Some guests use the last week for a booking longer than any they made during the stay: two or three hours, or the eight hour overnight, charged as one block rather than by the hour. The overnight is always half ahead and needs notice, because a whole night must be free in one diary. Placed two or three nights before departure, it leaves time to recover before the journey. On the very last night, when the flat is half packed and the alarm is set early, a shorter booking usually fits better.
The deposit in the final week
By the last week you are a returning guest, so a same-day booking of one or two hours at a city address is paid in full on arrival. A booking fixed more than twenty-four hours ahead carries half the fee in advance, as does anything of three hours or more, anything with two therapists and an overnight. Given how full the last week tends to be, most final bookings are made ahead and carry the deposit.
If the leaving plans change
Final weeks are unpredictable. A flight moves, a handover runs over, a landlord brings the inspection forward. One free change of date is allowed if it is asked for more than twenty-four hours before the booking and the new date falls within fourteen days, but in the last week there may be no date left to move to. Called off with over twenty-four hours in hand, the booking costs nothing and the deposit returns whole. Inside the final day, before she leaves, half is kept, and once she is on her way all of it is kept unless someone else takes the hour.
Leaving the flat as you found it
Many rental agreements for long stays end with an inspection, and the last week is not the moment to test the shower or the landlord's tolerance for oil on the sofa. Oil and sensual formats stay on the bed, and she protects it with her own towels, which she takes with her afterwards. If you are staying in a hotel for the final nights after handing back the flat, the arrival window is the same forty to sixty minutes anywhere in central Amsterdam.
The thread after you leave
The booking thread that ran through the stay does not have to be kept by you, and the house deletes it twelve months after its last message. What the privacy page describes applies to a guest who has gone home exactly as it applies to one who is still here. If you expect to return to Amsterdam for another posting or another season, the only thing worth remembering is the name of anyone you booked. A returning guest who writes a year later and gives that name is answered in the ordinary way: with whether she is free, and if not, who is.
A last night near Schiphol
Some long stays end with a night at one of the airport hotels, after the flat has been handed back and before an early departure. A booking there is arranged rather than quoted on the spot: the journey time out to the airport is agreed with you first, and half the fee goes ahead in every case. Write a few days before, give the hotel and the hour, and say when the flight leaves, so the booking can be placed with enough room for sleep afterwards.
What does not change at the end
Everyone present must be twenty-one or over, and a photo document may be asked for at the door even on a final booking. She decides what a session includes and tells you her limits when she arrives.
