Halfway through a long stay, the routine that helped in the first month can start to feel like a loop: the same café, the same tram, the same view from the same window. Cora, who lives in De Pijp, is booked to interrupt it. At twenty-four she is a brunette with Croatian and English at her disposal. Nuru is the format she is known for, and it needs a shower close by and a bed that can take a sheet. She describes what she includes at the start of each visit and does not reopen the subject.

Cora decides which bookings she takes and may decline any of them; she sets the limits for what a session includes, says what they are, and may end a visit at any point, as the terms set out.
